Hi All,

I have been investigating alternative natural methods of getting proteins and minerals and am interested at looking into growing sprouts from seeds. I don't have a garden so a window sill sprouter is about as much gardening I can do..:D

Has anyone had any experience of sprouting? Any advice of sprouters and seeds would be much appeciatted.

:8855:I know what you mean, I am the least green-fingered person and can kill plants from 20 paces! However, if I am growing to eat then I am thinking I may take more care.

I think Gillian McKeith covers sprouting in one (or more!) or her books. x

Hiya, I don't have experience of growing sprouts but I do eat them. They are lovely and I feel very virtuous eating them. My fave is radish sprouts, they are very peepery. Good luck with your growing x

For a minute there John I thought you were on about my chuffin ears that have decided I am now my Dad and started "sprouting" hair

What the chuff is that about? I is officially old

Hi John I bought one of those new PVC greenhouses but I call it the house of death as nothing EVER!! comes out alive.:8855::8855:

Hi John,Its quite easy to sprout seeds. Its done in your airing cupboard though not the window cill!Large glass jars with a lid, seeds ie mung, alfalfa etc.Sow seed on a damp base, place in warm cupboard and turn daily I think.Quite a faff but interesting.Google sprouting there are loads of sites especially American ones.Maz x

Sorry John but any advice I give you on growing anything will surely end in the death of your plants lol. I can't even grow watercress from an egg cup lol.Every thing I touch is doomed forever. Good luck with it and I hope it works for youxx
