Hi,

Like a lot of people I have been on the hunt for people who have been living with wls for 10+ years and have found something!

It is very americanised but I have found it an interesting read.

it is worrying how few there are of any real long term stories out there with positives, plenty of 5+ with conditions brought on from the surgery, but it cannot be the case that everyone who has the surgery past a certain time is having so much fun living they dont write in forums any more

i think sometimes you have to go on non biased forums, and possibly ones that arent all about surgery, because people are going to be more positive than negative naturally if they have just had the surgery etc and will often browbeat any one asking awkward questions down because they dont want to think they may have endangered themselves further by electing to have the surgery done - understandable.

one thing i only just learnt was it can have a big negative impact on teeth and that would not be fun to go through!

WLS surgery is still fairly new in the UK so that is why you cant find many stories xx
