sugar

teen

post op loser
I had a weight watchers yougurt at dinner time and I was horrified that it had 10g sugar in it Is that normal Not looked a sugar content before

All milk products have sugar, it is called lactose. It is the easiest form of sugar for most people to digest (except for the lactose-intolerant of course). However, some yogurts have more than others, just compare 'light' brands to find the one with the lowest number and you will be fine. Or since you did not dump, the kind you buy might be just fine for you. Lactose does not usually act on a post-op bypasser's system like table sugar does so we can tolerate it in larger amounts, but again it varies from person to person.

thanks for the advice just thought it would have been less in a WW one We live and learn

The problem is terms like 'light' and 'diet' don't have any legal control, unlike 'low' and 'reduced' fat/sugar. So you get things like marshmallows being advertised as fat free lol so people think they are healthy. Often, when the fat is reduced in something, like yoghurt, they add extra sugar for more flavour.

what kind of yogurts does everyone eat. i have never liked flavored yogurt find them too sweet. I tend to eat natural live yogurt with fresh fruit added.

what ever is on special in tesco Mullerlight this week cause they are half price

I have recently noticed that there is high sugar content in a lot of the Weight Watchers stuff, surprised me! It seems they focus more on the fat (& we know what is low in one is usually high in the other!!)

So true Ditz!!!
