Thirsty!

Hi all

Just wondering if any of you have been really thirsty post surgery? I'm 8 days out now and drinking about 300ml every half hour!

I been struggling with drinks as everything I liked before the op I don't like it now, fella decided I needed the vitamins in juice so bought me fresh apple juice which I diluted 50/50 with water, its going down well but cant say I've got too much of a thirst.

Everything is just so sweet now!!! Ugh! I too am watering it all down.

I am quite thirsty yes; I have been drinking far more than "eating". I just can't get it all down.

First couple of days I wasn't but now I'm drinking loads! X

this is a worry to me as i drink masses a day so im worried post op that i wont be allowed to drink all i do now as i dehydrate very quick

This is a result of the anaesthetic and the bounce into ketosis because your cals are so low. Just keep sipping

Post op you'll be on saline for first 24 hours. Then sipping 20ml of water every hour at my hospital, rising to free fluids by day 3.

It is hard to sip not gulp but I get a real soreness If I drink too quick :/

I drink a lot too as I recovered from Stevens johnson syndrome whereby I dry up everywhere n need to drink. Looks like ill be sipping n sipping
