Well the hospital number came up on my phone and i got really excited because i'm just waiting for a date but it was only to tell me that the anethetist had viewed my bloods and my ferritin levels are only 3 and they should be 17!!!
They give me a pescription which i collected immediately but does anyone know how this affects surgery ?
thanks Marti xx

Ferretin is a protein found in your cells, that helps them store iron. So I'm guessing if your ferretin levels are low, so is your iron. You need iron to produce haemoglobin, which helps carry oxygen to your red blood cells.

So if your Ferretin count is low, chances are your at risk of becoming anaemic.
