What do they do on FIRST POST-OP APPOINTMENT ?

Morning all,

Im due to go to salford hospital on friday for my first post-op appointment,its 8 weeks since I had my bypass.

Im just wondering what do they do/ask when you go ?

I went on Friday and I saw the specialist bariatric nurses and the dietician. They dont actually do anything other than weigh you and take your BP. They just chat to you and ask how things are going, where you are up to with your eating etc. The nurse asked about things like bowel movements and periods mainly asking if you had any problems post surgery. The dietician was asking about what food you have tried and how you are with them. I usually see Chris but this was another man. Nothing to worry about XX

I was the same Em., and it can be a long day so take a drink... or pop to the cafe a few doors away... Chris was there too... plus a nurse Sister... all lovely lovely staff... it's nothing to be anxious about Angel and everyone is usually around the same stage... I was with four other people and one more person who was from over here, out of the area like me, so it was good to meet up...

We had a good old chin wag in the waiting room and spurred each other on... some very friendly folk around in Manchester... I love it!

In fact... the waiting room was an experience in itself and worth going just for the discussion and chat...
