im so worried i think i have put on about 5 pound and getting as i have my pre opp wensday

Hiya kee, I should'nt think he will get angry, after all that is why you need weightloss surgery, because you keep gaining weight. Don't worry you will be fine. Good luck for Wednesday chuck.

Mine said I had to either maintain my current weight, or lose a bit beofre the pre op or he wont do the op.Not sure if that's always the case but I am trying to be good just in case:eek:
My doc has just said she thinks I may have an underactive thyroid too so it's hard work:(

owww thanks my weight was 18 stone 2 lbs when he see me back in july 2008 but like i say have put about 5 pound on think ill starve my self the next few days hehe just in case i would cry if they said they will not do it

After i had been for my first consultation with the surgeon i put on half a stone but once i went on the pre op diet i lost five pounds, but i had my band done privately so dont know if that makes any difference.

ahh im having mine done on the nhs but the sergon never said any thing to me about if i put any weight on or nothing like that so am a bit worried ow well ill just have to see what they say

Try not to worry he said it was one of the requirements of my PCT which is central lancs:eek:I don't want to worry anyone, if your surgeon didn't mention it don't worry;)

Hiya Kee, its your pre op, so they will just tell you what you need to do now on the run up til your actual op, so I should'nt worry at all chucks and to be honest 5lbs in over 6mths is not to bad really, if it was 5 stone, then I would be worried....soooo chill girl, you will be fine. x

i was nhs i was put on xenical, b4 the op, he said if i gained weight that id go to the bottom of the waiting list, but all surgeons are different.

I was nervous of this aswell as I knew when I was admitted for my op that I had gained quite alot of weight since I had been seen.... Stupidly I had the attitude that I'd have a final blow out as I would n't be able to do it after my op. My surgeon never mentioned to me about what would happen if I gained weight but then I was never weighed when I was admitted for my surgery. The nurse just asked me what my weight was, I told her and it was left at that.

Think I gained about 5 kilos but I had had a huge amount of stress presurgery as my baby boy was seriously ill in hospital and stress makes me eat. Every surgeon is different as someone here had already mentioned

oww thanks every one i should be ok and if i have to lose weight b4 hand then i will do as i rilly need this sergery i feel its my last resort rilly as a lot u u may have felt the same way to i just hope nothing stands in my way of having it done wish me luck x

i put on over a stone between consultation and pre op nobody said anything about it i kinda went mad and had last supper syndrome i think lol

Don't worry hun. If your surgeon had a criteria about your weight he would have had to advice you of it so you could follow it. If he said nothing then you can't be expected to comply. Also it has been 6 months with x-mas just passed, that is long time to maintain your weight which most obese people cant't do which is part of why you want the surgery!!!

Just make sure you stick to the pre-op diet he gives you and I'm sure you'll be fine.

N;)

lol think that is what im doing lol but have to stop my self as its doing me no gd lol im getting out of breath more easy now and never had that only when i was pregnant with my 3 children lol i will let u know how i get on also i was told by the sergons secutary that the sergon dont mk u go on a diet but every one that seems to be on hear has been on one but i will know more wensday

Hi Hun, don't worry I put weight 7lbs prior to doing the pre-op diet which my surgeon knew about. He said he wanted me to loose about 10lbs before he would 'band' me which i did doin the pre-op diet ( i lost 13lb in 10 days ). On the day of surgery he was very pleased with the loss . Don't stress too much, just ensure you follow ur pre-op diet plan when you get it. You will be fine shug. Good luck x x x

oww thanks hun what pre opp diet did u do when i first see the sergon all he said was yes u need the band done im happy to do it he also said my liver was not inlarged which was unusual as over weight ppl normley have inlarged liver .

Hi, I did a liquid pre-op diet, which consisted of the slimmer low cal cuppa soups, bovril, skimmed milk and a cup of ovaltine light before goin to bed. I did this for 10days and lost 13lbs!!! Any questions hun, please feel free to send me a private message I will do what I can. Good Luck X x x
