Taking prescribed meds

Hi everyone

I have a pre-existing chronic pain condition that means I take several prescribed tablets and supplements to help me live. What happens about taking tablets when you are on the liquid stage? I don't think I'll be able to cope without them for a couple of weeks.

It's one of the questions I'll ask obviously but wondered if anyone had any experience.

Thanks.

Ask your GP what he can give you in liquid form and what, if any, of your meds can be crushed. I had one of mine substituted with one that could be crushed until I was back taking them whole again.
The liquid vitamins are pretty disgusting but you'll be fine with them :)

Im having a gastric band done...and my surgeon just told me not to take my heavy pain meds the day before or the day of the operation. I can bring my own meds for after.

And im on Pregabalin, Tramadol for my Fibromyaliga, Sciatica neuralgia, Torn rotor right cuff on shoulder, As well as omeprazole (to coat the stomach), citalopram (depression) and Levothyroxine (hypothroidism)...

I was allowed to take all of my usual tablets as soon as I was allowed to start ice chips so for me, post op day 3... Good luck and hope it goes well for you!

Thanks everyone, I'll talk to my GP about liquid meds when the time comes.

Bluebutterflier - I have fibro too.
