Hi Mich,
I was worried too but the surgeon basically said that if I was worried then I shouldn't have it because it is elective surgery, not essential. I discussed all the pros and cons and although was nervous about it decided to go for it. I got through the surgery and recovery with no...
Totally normal!! I'd be more worried if you weren't like that to be honest :!
Just acknowledge those feelings as normal but focus on the positives and you'll get through it.
Good luck x
Has anyone started to struggle with anxiety after bypass surgery?
Had my surgery about 15 months ago and now at target weight and stable. Life is all good and Ive never had a problem before but for no apparent reason I have started to really struggle with anxiety attacks. Feel like I'm losing...
Just had my results from 1 year post op bloods and they're saying my parathyroid hormone levels are high. But vitamin d and calcium seem to be normal.
They have recommended I double up on my adcal and have suggested checking calcium levels in 4 weeks and pht and vit d in 6 months.
Has anyone...
I'm now almost 15 months post surgery. Healed well and now down to a healthy normal bmi and off all meds except the vitamins, iron and lansoprazole. Was only meant to take the lansoprazole for 6 months but struggling to come off it though not too concerned by this.
My pain levels and joint...
Good luck!!
I've been through the immigration thing with my (now soon to be ex) husband! We actually got married in the uk on a marriage visa after which he could stay but couldn't work for 6 months, then he had to get his leave to remain after passing a life in the uk exam, then applied for...
Lovely to hear from you aharona, so glad you popped by. I know it's been full of ups and downs and far from easy but celebrate all the positives, you will still get there if you keep at it and don't put yourself under too much pressure. We all slip up occasionally, I know I've been very naughty...
Great news you're getting your hernia sorted TB, I'm sure you'll have nothing to worry about and will feel like a new woman afterwards!
Can't believe it's almost a year since surgery- mine was Nov 1st, it's flown by!
I've been maintaining my weight for the last 3 months or so and am quite happy...
Not sure there's too many of us from November around any more!
I'm good, made my first target 'normal' bmi last week so thrilled with that. Not sure what's next, probably would like to lose 7-10lb more but I'm not going to stress too much about it.
Hope you're ok TB and anyone else still out...
I have always used food as a comfort and/or coping mechanism when stressed but obviously can't do that any more. Strangely nor do I want to, I am super stressed at the moment and can't face food at all, it's like my stomach has completely constricted.
Without food I'm struggling to deal with...
The doubts are normal Hun I'm sure most people here will tell you they've had the exact same thoughts and feelings as you're experiencing now, I know I did!
I loved food and used it as my coping mechanism for a very long time. I'm not going to tell you this journey is easy, it's incredibly hard...
The pre op diet really is the hardest bit!!! Sounds like you are all doing great! I only had to do 10 days though I actually did 12 but don't know how I would have coped with 3 or 4 weeks!!
It is super hard but stay focussed and you'll get through it, it's a step closer to your goal :)
