4 days out of surgery and major heartburn??

Hi guys,

Just looking for a bit of reassurance really. Had my gastric wrap op 4 days ago, was sick for the first 2 days then things calmed down. Still got a bit of wind pain but not much, the only thing I have is heartburn/indigestion since last night and all day, woke up choking during the night even though was lying more upright. Im on esmeprazole 40mg every day, have been for years, but today have had rennies and gaviscon too and cant get any relief. Is this normal???? Its so painful.

Hiya Sam

I also had the wrap, had mine nearly 4 weeks ago and i get really bad acid/indigestion it is getting better very very slowly so i think it might be normal after this surgery.

Thank you, it is improving a bit now been to doc and changed my medication. im still getting a very furry tongue and lots of saliva in my mouth - any ideas anyone????
