I have been booked for surgery at 7am and have tried to book a hotel in luton for the night before as its a 2+ hour drive and with the m25 dont want to get in a traffic jam, but of course they are all booked out due to the olympics, why?? It dont start till later in july. Its a bit like christmas starting in november dont you think? Looks like a really early start for me.

Good luck hope all goes well with your op tomorrow, be ok getting up early will keep your mind occupied and you probably wont sleep too well any way hope you have a quick recovery. xx

See if there's one in a town nearby?

Have you asked your team if they will admit you the night before. I have some issues with travelling which meant that it would be very difficult for me to get to the hospital by 7.30am. They said no problem, they do it quite often as some people have to travel far.

Good idea might have to do that. Had to put my dog down today so my minds not thinking straight.

:( Big hug for you :( I'm still not over doing the same and that was years ago, it gets better though hun.

A drive to get to hospital in the morning will probably do you good. You'll probably spend most of the day waiting for your turn to go to theatre and then recovering so a little activity early on will be nice. I was so restless, lol :D it'll also help settle your nerves I think.

Thank you so lonely without him even though we bought a pup 3 weeks ago thought it might ease the sadness a bit but it doesnt. Probably will drive now, just worried my partner might get too tired as he will have to drive home again. Iv heard the visiting is not great and they wont let him stay too long.

I was first on the list. On the table by 8.30 and didn't really wait around at all. They were allowed to visit me for 10 minutes post op but would have been able to stay longer if it was during normal visiting hours which are 2-8.

Thank you I will prob send him home I will want to sleep it off anyway. He can come back the next day to take me home hopefully.

If you are in HDU it will probably be two nights, but if you don't need HDU it will most likely be one.

I got there at 730 was in theatre at 845, op was 930-1130 and my husband and mother in law waited in the restaurant till 3pm as there was no beds on the ward! I didn't go to hdu I went straight on the ward and was there 2 nights eventho I had no pain after 24hrs!
