A surgery excuse?

Hi all,
I am having a band with Healthier Weight on 4th Feb, and I don't want anyone to know. I am going to lie and pretend I have had another type of surgery, but not sure what to say. I don't want to discuss it - I'm very ashamed of it, so... anyone else come up with a great reason why you've had surgery and subsequently lost weight?! haha
Not looking forward to getting myself home alone post-surgery, but luckily it's not far!

Do they have to know you've had surgery?
If not then, you could just say you've been poorly to cover up the recovery period and now that its a new year you're losing weight to stick to your resolutions. Do you have to do the 2 week liver shrinking diet before the band? This fits in with your new year new you resolution. Then maybe join a gym and they would think you were super successful with your new diet. Your eating will have to change anyway so that could explain the new diet 'excuse'. There is one youtube lady I watched that didn't actually join the gym but would tag herself into a gym on facebook so that her family and friends thought she was going to the gym to lose weight.

Hopefully others on here can give you more suggestions.

Welcome Sarah Mac and good luck with your surgery. Please don’t ever feel ashamed, you are taking a very brave step for a better and healthier life and should feel very proud of yourself for making this decision. We are all here to help and support you xx

Thanks so much. They'll know because i will see them and be in pain and need to explain why I am not eating or drinking alcohol! My job involved LOTS of socialising - usually going to 3/4 dinners a week, so explaining I can't eat isn't so easy. I might have to go with a stomach infection or something.
I know of course I shouldn't be ashamed but I am and am happy to cover it up.

There are so many horror stories on the internet it's terrifying! And two weeks on liquids! Yikes!

Thanks for the advice.
