A Tad Confused

Hey all happy hump day!!

I am a little confused by all the names given to the different procedures. Could someone explain what a mini gastric bypass is?

I am having a bypass and my consultant Mr Richardson explained what he is going to do and I think it is the roux-en-y. That the one where all the goodies get absorbed still and the bad stuff gets wasted.

As you can see I am soooooooooo confuddled.

Basically though, its a quicker, less chance of complications procedure but like the traditional bypass (rny) which you are having, its restrictive and malabsorptive.

The sleeve and the band, the other most common procedures are restrictive only.

Thank you Mazza. It really did help. I went over to the link you sent and knew straight away which procedure. Yes I am having the Roux-en-Y procedure.
