:eek:how many appointments do you have before your actual surgery, eg:is it consulant-surgeon-pre-op,then surgery, can anyone shed some light please x:)

I think it depends on the individual and also whether you are going private or NHS.

Mine ran in this order on NHS banding....

GP Appointment 4th April
Application to PCT same day
Funding approved Beginning of June
Appointment to see Surgeon 4th August
Pyschologist 5 weeks before surgery
Dietician 3 weeks before before surgery
Pre-op 3 weeks before before surgery
Endocrinologist 2 weeks before surgery
Final Pre-op morning of surgery

I then got first fill November 23rd after Surgery on 14th October under XRay. He put in 3.25 mils. Band apparantly had 1 mil to start with.

My next fill 23/02/09 under Xray.

It seems to differ for everyone (for sugeon to surgeon, diff PCT or diff medical issues). For me it was dietician (2x), then consultant, then surgeon (2x due to change of surgeon), sleep apnea test, then psychologist, pre-op then surgery.

So 8 before surgery for me. Post-op should be at 6 weeks, 6 months, 1 year, 18 months & then 2 years. I think that is right, if anyones else knows for sure about how many post op please speak up.

Thankyou all, that helps alot,is just nice to get some idea of what to exspect, also im (nhs) hopefully banding x

I have post op at 6 weeks and then every 3 months after that for the first 2 years. Alllllll different lol.

I'm going for nhs banding....up to now I've had GP appointment, Endocrinologist x1, and next is the Dietician. They've told me from there it will go for funding approval and then t surgeon. What I can gather every area is different. I don't have to see Psychiatrist because I done a year in OA.
