Hi guys.

So i'm going to be starting my pre-op diet tomorrow.
I spoke to a lovely lady at the WLS group yesterday who went through the health questions etc & then said she was passing on my details to someone else who would arrange for me to see El Hasani.

Shes sent me the pre-op diet sheet & i want to start it tomorrow as i want the op asap.

My diet sheet is -

● CLEAR SOUP (CONSOMME, OXO CUBES, KNORR CUBES & BOVRIL (JARDOX)
● SUGAR FREE JELLY
● CLEAR FLUIDS, FRUIT/HERB TEAS, BLACK TEA/COFFEES & SUGAR FREE SQUASHES
● 2 EGGS AND A PIECE OF STEAMED OR GRILLED CHICKEN OR WHITE FISH OR QUORN TWICE A DAY
● GREEN VEGETABLES AND GREEN SALAD
● X3 SMALL PORTION OF FRUITS A DAY
● YOU MUST DRINK 3-4 LITRES OF FLUID EVERY DAY
● ANYTHING NOT ON THE LIST IS NOT ALLOWED

Does anyone know if salt & pepper are allowed?

Has anyone else followed this pre-op diet?
What fruit & veg did you eat?

Am i reading this correct..... am i supposed to eat 4 eggs a day? My insides are going to be rotten :giggle:

Can you pick what you like from your diet sheet or do you have to have everything on it?

I don't like Jelly and not sure what i'd do with oxo cubes either.
I'm a veggie so will be eating quorn chicken.

Thank you

Pick what you like from the list .I think you will find that the list is a guide to what to eat.I was given a guide that stated that I an have eggs while on the diet but in fact I only had a bout 2 the whole time.I mostly has crisp bread and low fat cheese spread. But your diet is slightly different.

woohoo good luck daisy :) xxx

I did this diet and same group and doctor as you.
I was having:
B: 1 or 2 hard boiled or scrambled eggs (no fat) With mushrooms
L: Clear soup (I was told by the nutritionalist that I could have WW soup, as long as it was the clear type with no potato)
D: chicken or tuna with salad or steamed veg
S: SF jelly, a couple of slices of wafer thin ham or fruit
And yes, you are allowed seasonings and herbs/spices.
Good luck xx

That's the same as my diet.
Oxo cube or bovril is a drink just mixed with boiling water.
It's 2 eggs a day
Yes u can have salt and pepper or herbs etc
And veg and fruit apart from root veg ie studs
No i haven't always had everything on the list
Plus I had slim fast on my sheet as well

Good luck with your pre op diet and op :D

Good luck hun x

Thanks everyone.

Probably sound mad but i'm so excited to be starting.
Can't wait to met the surgeon and hopefully get a date.
The sooner i start, the sooner i will get my life back on track.

I think everyone above has nswered your questions, but i would like to say good luck with your weightloss journey.
I hardly ate eggs pre-op... but now due to the high protein which is good for weighloss, i now have about 7-8 a week ..love em lol xx

Hi Daisy,
Hope you are all settled for the pre-op. i have started my pre-op diet from today. i was supposed to start it yesterday but couldn't resist the thought of having a last meal. My surgery is on 23rd March. i am also doing the Low carb diet.

If you need a buddy to keep track of the diet. i'm here as we are doing the same diet. it will be better if we keep a record of what we are eating each day and see if we are doing everything right.

I got a big list of foods from my hospital which says what i need to eat and how much is right. its very helpfull. Just need to sort out what to eat every day. I made a table which i will be keeping with me all the time so that i don't forget anything.

My sample menu is
