Blood tests

Hi all, I went to the group seminar last night at Sunderland and we had Mr Small and Margaret doing the presentations. Along with this we got a little reference book and a sheet about blood tests.

OK - Silly question which I forgot to ask in my excitement last night, but do I now need to make an appointment with my GP to arrange the tests or do I post it to them?

The thing is, I've just had my full bloods done a fortnight ago for my diabetic check up (got the results yesterday morning) - so I'm wondering if my GP would just be able forward these results to Sunderland, or do I have to redo the tests? I don't mind the needles its just the hassle of having to plan around work to get the time off.

I've rung the number for the specialist nurse but haven't had a call back yet and my GP is on leave until Monday. :sigh:

bumber! I'll have to be patient til Monday then.

Just seems a bit daft when up to date bloods results are already sitting on my GPs computer.

The sheet says that the tests can be done outside SRH, but the results need to be faxed/copied to them for their records... so at least I just go to my local clinic if I have to redo the tests.

I have my blood tests done at my GP - I have a list of those required - and when the results are back I go and ask for a copy for my surgeon.

I do it in plenty of time cos it would be rude not to have a really good gander!!

As long as my GP is happy with it the receptionist prints it off for me - and she is!!

xx

I love my doctor - he's wonderful!!! He printed off my results that I had done a couple of weeks ago and gave me another sheet for the Bone Panel and the fasting lipids...and I saw the vampires this morning! He said the receptionist would be able to print off the result of these last two for me - then I can send them to the hospital. I'm gonna fax, post and email them just to be on the safe side...
