bp meds

Since op I have dropped one of my bp meds , but twice I have tried to drop the other & each time I retain fluid , has anyone else had this & if so how did you get past it ?

I am pre op and still need my BP meds, have only come off any after suffering severe side effects. You didn't say which med is causing the issue, is it a diuretic by any chance? I take one (bendroflumethiazide), although I don't notice any effects from it as a small dose usual for high BP. What does your GP say?

Yes its bendroflumethazide & tbh I havnt discussed it with him , maybe I should .
I must say he said once I was consistently below 130 to stop them , which is what I have done
