I've voted no because although in some ways it would be good, it would make this forum less used and divide WLS people when there are experiences from Banders that might help Bypassers and vice versa. Also all of us benefit from general life experiences which maybe lost if there is a division.
This is what I think anyway, but I might well have missed the point or somesuch.

As a pre-bander it would be quite useful to be able to access threads specifically about bands. Although I completely agree that bypassers are also able to offer valuable experience sometimes I find myself wading through threads to find someone who has had a band.
I wouldn't want to alienate anyone and start a 'them and us' situation but from personal experience it would be really helpful to me at this stage.

This is really interesting, as twice as many people have voted yes than no so far, but the comments seem to indicate a strong desire to not have a seperate area...
If you voted yes, please be brave and post your reasons...
As mods, we want to do right by everyone, and the very last thing we want is to cause a divide, but we are conscious that some banders already feel under-represented and we are just trying to remedy that in the best way we can.
As a bypasser I have also learnt lots from banders about do's and dont's and picked up lots of tips, so I would still read a banders area if one was set up.
As always though, its your forum and we will do whatever the majority go for.

Would a banders FAQ section be better than separate section. The idea behind the thinking is not to alienate banders or create a them and us situation it is trying to find a forum that works for everyone.

As someone who is just starting out on my journey & who originally was looking at a band I actually found it quite difficult to find info on here just about bands. I know the prefixing will help with this, but topics seem to move so quickly that unless you have the time to keep scrolling thru its difficult to keep track of posts... & the prefixing only works if people use it!

I voted yes because I too fint it a bit of a trek to sometimes find band info I often have 5 minutes at work that I can use to come on the site and it would be easier to find quickly. As a newbie its a bit overwhelming to find so much for bypassers and not so much for banders and I just think it would make my life a bit easier. Although having said that I am incredibly nosy and read everything anyway.

I find that with WLS surgery we are all the same. If you have a sub forum or FAQ for Banders then you should have a sub forum or FAQ for Bypassers as well. However, I would rather keep it as is other wise it creates a them and us situation. We already have sub headings to help you find band and bypass threads. IMO that is enough.

Although it appears that people would like a seperate section, however based on the comments from long term banders we are trying to find a solution to this tht pleases everybody. Please bear with us and we will let you all know as soon as we have sorted it.
