I am having such a terrible time with trying to get my operation sorted.
I have been with Walsall Manor now for three years and still haven't had my operation. I had all of my pre ops and met with the aneasitist last year and then i got called for gastric bypass in July. The letter about the specialist diet arrived two days before the surgery date and i phoned as i was panicking i hadn't been on the diet and didn't want to be opened up and then told it couldn't go ahead.
I went to the hospital as the secretary, lead nurse and dieticiam couldn't advise me. I met with Mr Khan and this was the first time i had met him, he explained the theatre was all booked for the next day at 9am and a bed was ready with my name on it. I explained the letter had only just come and how i hadn't done the diet after a long conversation i decided to have a band instead of the bypass as at first i was never given the choice. The reason for the band was recovery times and times off work.
So this was July 2010, I have waited and waited and still not heard anything despite being told there was only a four month waiting list for the band. i decided to phone in February and was told that i would be operated on the end of May, start of June. i phoned today and i was told i should just wait for a date of surgery which would be July. i am so frustrated having come so close and now i feel so far away as i keep being told misleading information.
Anyone got any Advice as to what i should do!
