i had carpal tunnel in mboth my wrists and had operatins on both one about 10 years ago and the other about 13 years ago, you do need to visit yur doctor to see how bad it is.
As for work i work on a checkout aswell, and when i started i had all sorts of aches and pains all over, it can be quiet strenuous on checkout as your moving and lifting all the time. It may wear off once you get used to the job xx
