complacent ?

pandora

finding my way again !
I read all the time about people being nervous or scared & I totally get it . I know I am away off having my op , but I am not scared at all . Is it because I see ops day in day out that it just doesn't phase me or am I being complacent ?

It maybe because of your work, but it may also be the inevitability of the op. ie you KNOW you HAVE to have surgery to stand any chance of leading a normal life, so bring it on! Thats how i feel anyway :) xx

there really is nothing to be worried about, but i think im a bit like you i have ad ops before so i wasnt really worried at all... but it is natural for some people to be scared...its a big step onto a wonderful journey xx

After being scared wittless over my last op which i had no choice but to have as it was womb cancer i am terrifide again and hope im up first or can have a pre med to keep me calm, i know you will be around hun and that makes me a little calmer but last time i was not allowed a pre med and hubby came right into the anesthetic room to hold me down, i nearly did a runner (ok a fast walk :p ).
Trying not to get to wound up and shoving it to the back of my mind.

Have you asked if you can have a pre med this time ? I know they don't give them much these days but I'm sure they would prefer a relaxed patient than a wound up one xx

Pandora,

After 17 years in the NHS, including time as a scrub nurse in theaters, and having had a number of ops in the past I am fairly calm at the moment.

However, who knows what I'll be like next Friday, especially as I'm the afternoon case!

I will watch with interest hunni x
