contraceptive pill and gastric band

Hey does anyone from Walsall know if you need to stop taking the pill before surgery or are we okay to carry on taking the medication, don't want anything getting in the way of them doing my op

Hi. I was told that I had to stop taking pill 2wks before op to reduce risk of blood clots and that I couldn't have it afterwards due to malabsorption so had to have the coil fitted.
Prob best to phone and ask the hospital. Better to be safe xx

Your right it is best to check. Im a bander though as will be the poster of the thread and wasnt told to stop taking the pill. We dont have malabsorption to worry about so probably as long as swallowing it is ok

I didnt stop taking mine, they didnt advise me to either! x
