Desperately in need of help

so so sorry to hear you are having so much trouble and PAIN. you need to be strong in your mind about what you want them to do and fight all the way. I agree it is an exceptional case and that you need help asap. would it not be poss for you to have another band fitted to control you weight after things are sorted out? dont know reasons for erosion. sending you my best wishes for your future

Your GP or another GP in the Practice should be a go-between between you and your consultant. That is what GPs are supposed to do. Yours is one of the most tragic posts that I have read on this forum. As I said before, your quality of life is zilch, and you really need someone, perhaps a family member or someone who is eloquent and determined, to help you through this. If your GP simply shrugs his shoulders - hmm I better not put into words what is in my head. Everyone here really feels for you and there is a way round it, and I wonder whether anyone on here has contacts or can put you on the right track. I would love to advise but am not able to. When possible, please keep posting on here, and we will all support you as best we can along the way. Please don't feel that you are being troublesome, as everyone here really wants to see you sorted.

Totally agree with this post. Please keep posting YP. We will support you as best we can, and also your journey is valuable research for anyone considering the op for themselves.

Thank you all again for your comments and well wishes. I know it probably sounds over dramatic, but I feel like I am at rock bottom and I am truly terrified for the future. I am not an assertive person by nature and am better communicating in writing than by words, especially when it comes to doctors and medical staff which is probably why I have ended up in this mess….. I don’t want to die but I feel like a piece of me is slipping away each day and I have absolutely no control over it all.

Oh my Lord, to read this breaks my heart :hug99: I wish I could be there to assist you some how. I really do.

If you feel better articulated, write it all down on a piece of paper and do not be ashamed or afraid to read it to them off pat. Do what ever it takes my sweat. I don't want you to die - you've come too far.

:hug99:

My thoughts are with you.

i really hope a solution is found for your pain and discomfort, it sounds as if you have suffered enough, thinking of you chick x

Hi

Hope you don't mind me asking but I wondered if your appointment with Dexter is this Friday afternoon (26th) at Jimmy's. If so I could meet you for a chat if you like. I've had lots of problems myself but nothing compared to you.

I have a slot at 3.30 and have yet to see the great man himself since my op, he's never there which is very annoying.

Hope everything gets sorted out for you.

Mr Dexter holds some clinics on a Friday morning at the Nuffield and my op was there on a Friday too so you may not get to see him himself :(

Hope you do see him or one of his senior doctors though cos he really knows whats what with WLS being one of the pioneers in this country esp. laparoscopically.

You may be able to have a reversal of your RNY but the sleeve will be permanent won't it - do you think that is your problem cos surely once thay have removed the stomach it's not going to be able to be put back.

Sorry to be a wet lettuce

Really hope you get sorted

Didn't want to read and run as your post really touched me. And the ignorant say that WLS is the easy way out!!! I hope you get some resolution soon. Your GP has a duty of care to you as his patient (and many are pursued for clinical negligence if they fail to give you the care you are legally entitled to) so he should be doing everything he can to get your consultant to resolve this issue - especially as it is affecting your quality of life - mentally and physically. Even if it is just to write a letter to your consultant explaining that your mental health is at risk if nothing is done. Hope things change for you soon x

Just wondering how things are for you and how the appointment went. Hope there's a plan of action to resolve your problems x

Hi Sam
Mr Dexter in Leeds

Please give Mr Dexter a call. i am under him too and my bypass has gone swimmingly. However, i know another person who, whilst they never had anything anywhere near as bad as you, she has had to call him and he has been amazing with her.

Big hugs honey.

Hi,

I too am late adding to this post. I am sorry to hear of the problems you have has since your surgery. It must seem like purgatory everyday. Please know that we are all thinking of you and hope you get this resolved quickly. I hope your appointment to see your surgeon went ok and please let us know what updates there are.

I am so sorry that things didn't go as you had wished so hard for. I wish I could do something to help. You sound so very down at the moment, antidepressants are a good start I think. Thinking of you.
