My (standard NHS) consent forms specifically state that they do not guarantee that you will have a specific surgeon.
However, this is a specialist field of surgery and you are not going to get someone who is inexperienced or doesn't know what they are doing! Most bariatric teams have only 1 or 2 surgeons tops - my team at Kings only had one surgeon (Mr Patel) until fairly recently when they brought another specialist abdominal surgeon (Ms Chang) into the team.
I know that we all develop an emotional attachment to "our" surgeon but imagine if you couldn't have your operation because "your" surgeon had a dose of flu

Good luck you get your man...I do hope he does not check Mini's though...
(((hugs)))
Just curious - why? Do you think he might blush knowing he has a fan club?!![]()
100% with Boblatina on this one....
If it's NHS...they'll probably do their best to give you the surgeon you have been under...however, if one's list become too much I would imagine that they might swap around a bit.

Lol..... I saw Mr Somers the other day and I told him that he and slater had a fan club on Minis! (he started to laugh)
I bet they love the attention!! When I last saw Mr Somers I did mention his legions of adoring fans - he smiled and did actually seem to blush!!
