How do you feel post op?ie 3/6/12 months down the line.Do you physically feel as you did before?Or does your tummy feel strange?

banding life style is the normal to me now after 4 years, i never get that old style full feeling its more a re learning how to eat for me as a bander its now my pouch is full feeling, not the old im stuffed feeling. but this is only from my band perspective.

I'm nearly 3 months post op and feel so much healthier already. I'm not bothered about the foods I liked before because I'm enjoying the feeling of well being. As Liz said the full feeling that the band gives is so different from the full feeling before my op. If I was full pre op I could'nt move because I was so stuffed. Being full post op means my pouch is full and I still can move about lolxx

I didn't feel anything physically different right after op - have drugs to help control that. However, a week or so post-op i did feel slightly different could feel change with the new pouch when i drank.

2 months post-op (bypasser) i will get the feeling of being full when i eat and that's my cue to stop eating but i am trying to stop a little before i feel full in order to feel comfortable as i don't like that full feeling xx

Physiologically my tum feels different..I don't get hungry, but I get a general feeling over all my tum that it is empty (sounds strange) and when I am at work, that reminds me to eat something ( I can't do breakfast - never have). Lots more wind and gulping drink gives you a rather unpleasant sensation but other than that, nothing noticeable. I am 3 weeks post bypass so early days yet.

The only time I notice the difference is when I feel unwell. Generally that's just cos my tummy is higher now, so the icky feelings are in a different place. Being sick is completely different, due to the pouch being a lot smaller and higher up. The rest of the rewiring you don't feel or notice at all.

My insides feel no differant at 8 months post op but my insides to make some strange noises lol

I have to say Ive had some strange occurrences since my op. Its only happened once but I involuntarily lost control of my bowls whilst I was driving which almost made me throw up in shock. Totally vile. Nurse at the hospital said it was just a blip and to ignore it. Other than that, my insides feel normal other than when I eat or drink - thats slightly different and I belch much more than I ever did before but they are little ladylike pops or hiccoughs.

I don't feel much different, except from obviously getting full quicker, and the strange gurgling noises after i've eaten:D:D

I guess I am the odd woman out but I do feel different inside. Not in a bad way just like things work differently. My pouch is high like Shel said so the hungry/empty feeling is now in my chest between my boobs instead of my middle. My old stomach still talks a bit which is weird, it usually happens during or directly after a meal. Much of my 'different' feelings have to do with my improved health like lack of IBS symptoms, no acid reflux, new healthier food cravings. I do also feel more connected and in tune with my digestion, when I have eaten healthy balanced foods the progression of my food through my digestive tract is simple & painless. When I indulge in unhealthy empty calories my body reacts and I have very mild cramping in my intestines as well as lots of wind and general mild discomfort. That is novel for me because pre-op I felt the same after a McDs feast as I did after a healthy salad. Not so now which is an excellent side-effect. But that may be just me. Feeling less hungry overall and feeling full quickly are the best part of the surgery so that you can make your head changes without fighting your body as well. Once you do that it is like getting your old car serviced and they accidently give you a brand new car instead!

Nic:D

I'm 6mths post op and the only difference I feel is lack of hunger and when my stomach makes gurlging noises now and again. Apart from the lack of appetite and eating less, or not being able to eat certain foods like crusty bread, chip shop chips and rice, nothing has changed. Oh and I dont go for a number two so much now, I used to go 3 to 4 times a day, now its once every 3 to 4 days! I dont feel any different inside my body from having had the bypass surgery at all.

Almost 10 months post op now and physically my guts don't feel different, I am only aware of band when I eat.

I still get hungry but for the right reasons now.

I do not have the insatiable hunger that I suffered with before and I am happy with the smaller meals. I never feel bloated, never too full and after a meal I am good to go, whereas before I would have stuffed my face and felt bloated, unable to move or sleepy.

Also the only other physical reminder of the operation is the fading scars and the little bump of my port...:D

dunno if ever i was normal to start with, let alone after i have my op!! as usual, i'll get my coat :bolt:

:D lol mark i am with you! I have never been normal.
Before my op i never had that full feeling, i mean NEVER. I used to listen to people saying "no more, i am stuffed!" and i just couldn't imagine it. Straight after a huge sunday lunch if someone offered me a McDonalds i wouldn't say no
Now it is fabulous! I have a full feeling, sometimes i must of eaten a little too much as it can be uncomfortable in my chest. But i know it is just a learning curve and it all about working with your body.
I do feel differently though. I now crave totally different things just like PG. Milk !!! i cant get enough of it. Before my op i hadn't touched milk in years. Cups of tea, theres another one! I have never drank tea in my life. I loved a Starbucks black coffee - absolutely nothing better. Now i don't even like the taste. It is all very strange, but absolutely bl***y fantastic!!!:banana dancer:
