Drinking after meals

I am new here. Due for surgery in early Sept.
Saw dietician a few days ago and was told to stop drinking 30 mins before a meal, and not to drink for 2HOURS after!
Other websites seem to say much shorter times eg 45 mins after a meal.
Did anyone else get told to wait 2 hours!!!

not heard that long ,I was advised to not drink for at least 1/2 hour after meals nothing as I recall mentioned before a meal
I do struggle with this nearly 10 months on but I do try hard to stick to it as near as I can

2 hours?? Never heard of that, in fact I eat about every 2 hours so in that case I wouldn't get to drink at all...the half hour rule is the general advice

hi I booked my band 2 days ago and in the booklets I received it advised to not drink for 30 mins before and an hour after. I think I will struggle with this as I anyways drink during my meal
