:confused:What does dumping feel like?

Hi,

Dumping......its not a nice feeling. I have dumped about 3 times now. For me its not painful, but my heart races, I feel sick and dizzy and just HAVE to lie down. Sometimes you have to go to the loo too:eek:! I have read somewhere that you get this feeling of impending doom, and its true!! Even though I'm not in pain, I just feel arrghhhh! For me it lasts about 30 mins, then I'm absolutely fine.....its a very weird feeling. I have dumped on a protein shake, tomato soup and after some veggie curry take away. All too much sugar in for me. The last time it happened, my youngest said "mummy's flumping again" and walked off. They're used to my funny ways now! lol :D

Sounds horrible!! I am lucky not ot have experienced that yet.
I thought you could only dump on sweet things?? I didn't know it would happen with a protein shake and some tomato soup!! - that sucks!!
What protein shake where you having?? Was the soup a healthy living one ??
I have bought some protein shake powder because i am worried about not getting enough protein, i wanted to find one that only built muscle and not fat. They only sold them in MASSIVE containers though!! It cost £70, so i just hope it does the job. I am also enjoying tomato soup- i am having tesco's healthy living variety.

Lizzie - some protein shakes have sugar, just make sure yours does not. And watch the sugars on any tomato products (soup, sauce, salsa, etc), manufacturers sometimes add sugar as a preservative & to cut the acidity. You just have to watch out for hidden sugar.

B&B - I didn't reply before because I haven't experienced dumping. I hear it is similar to hypoglycemic attacks/diabetic attacks which I have had and they are not fun. Sweaty, dizzy, sometimes faint feelings along with the urge to hug the floor/bed/chair for at least a half hour.

I have a couple of times not been dilligent about checking sugars (had a low-fat fruit smoothie that listed sugar first, ugg, didn't read it carefully), after about 2 or 3 sips I felt dizzy and stopped. The feeling went away in a minute but I got the feeling if I had finished it I would have dumped. That will teach me about labels as I was in public and did not have anywhere to have a rest!!

HTH:p
