Endoscopy Wednesday

Finally I'm at Endoscopy on Wednesday morning, at least some think is happening. even though am not looking forward to it.

I would go with the spray I supposedly had sedation and was aware of everything I personally didn't think the sedation made any difference for me

Hi I had this at the end of August - I was dreading it. I got sedated and it was no way as bad as I thought. Didnt take long at all - but I went for an Indian on the night and couldnt remembered what I ordered! So the sedation works. Honestly, it was fine and I was terrified. Best of luck

Best advice is just listen to what they tell you swallow when they say, breathe how and when they tell you to my first time was fine the 2nd not good but just go with an open mind they do them all day every day so they couldn't keep doing them if everyone had a bad time. xx

Awww am panicing now, I was going to have the spray, because I will be doing the driving. omg decisions :argh:

Caraline you will be fine what I meant was that I found it ok and felt the sedation didn't make any difference!

It isn't pleasant but just breathe and relax and you will be fine.

Yeah just as Goofy said just concentrate on ya breathing and it doesnt take very long they turn off the lights so you cant see a great lot or at least they did when I was there, I have afriend who has 3 endoscopies with out spray or sedtaion. Just try the spray if its no good they will stop. As its happening your gag reflex kicks in but not usually sick they tell you to keep breathing the 1st time the nurse stroked my hair, and wiped tears away from my eyes from retching, its the wind thats strange, they said you would hear the wind i thought meant farting but it comes out of yiiur mouth like loud long burps. its strange but just another thing we have to get through before the op. Go with an open mind keep calm n do what they say. x

Thanx everyone, another problem I have come down with a cold. I have got every think going. I have bought an oil burner for my olbas oil, beechams medcines, nasle spray. covered in vicks. just trying to get rid of it before wednesday. I dont have a sore throat. would I still be able to go through the endoscopy progress?

Don't see why not, probably not do it if chest infection though x

Fingers x for ya, I was supposed toi be having me flu jab n b12 wed but have had to re book cos I have nasty cough n bit cold and fluey like symptoms. x
