Thanks - its not all about eating though, as you lose you'll find you havemore energy to exercise and do more, this all helps with mobility and of course weight lose !
I'll be honest its not easy and takes time to get used to things, i'm really guilty of breaking all the rules, i used to eat and drink at the same time, and avoid the uncomfortable feeling of eating to much, and i've oftern made myself sick eating to much - you have to remember we all have an eating disorder, the desire to eat does return and thats when you need the techniques to stay straight.

I'f you've not read it yet read 'Pouch rules for dummies' posted by PH - its good accurate advice and really works !

Thanks for that SS... I have bookmarked PG's pouch rules post for when Im post op. I cannot wait to join you guys on the losing side

Do you have band or bypass?

I'm bypass - but to be honest most of the rules are the same, banders have a small pouch and the idea is the same - fill it keep it full and dont drink fluid after eating ! - lots of differences including no dumping for banders

Couldn,t agree more ss i always make sure i have a good drink befor i eat then once my meal is ready i cut it all up into small cubes as the one thing that is so easy to do is get distracted whilst eating and swollow something that is too big. That way although i chew im not then tempted to chew things to death as i know that it is already managable.
I had a couple of hungry days last week which is the first time since having my bypass And decided then that i would change from eating at the usual set meal times to when i felt hungry as due to my work commitments i think i was having my meals too close together then running around all evening after tea then feeling hungry later on this seems to be working for me. I manage to get a full feeling without the uncomfortable feeling as i seem to suddenly get a bout of wind as im reaching my marker once that happens i cant manage any more.
There are days when i struggle getting my 3 meals in but always make sure i do even though like tonight tea didnt find its way into me till 8.30, but to be honest i had had lamb fillet a boiled potato and veg at 2pm and for breakfast i had had a slice of ham and a banana, during the day i have had several cups of coffee all with milk in and a protien drink mid morning.
When it came to my tea i managed 1 oat cake and half a small tub of cottage cheese with a little salad.
12 weeks ago i couldnt of even envisaged ever eating like this there are times when its not easy but preperation is the key to my sucess personally. (god i sound like a boy scout) But knowing that you are in charge of food and it isnt controling you is a fantastic feeling.
