Great thread Emma, and its one that's got me thinking.
Ive had lots of interest in my surgery, and lots of compliments and oohs and aahs from people on the way, but support from family? I'd have to answer honestly, No.
Don't get me wrong, my husband is thrilled that I've lost the weight, and so are my kids, but I attended all appointments on my own, and was left to make the decision to have surgery on my own. My husband just trusted me to get on with it. I had to tell him what time off I needed him to take from work for childcare and taking me/picking me up from hospital. He went back to work the day after I cam home from hospital.
Because of this, I'm so lucky to have had the support of some wonderful friends I made here in the early days waiting for surgery, I knew I could always ask any questions on here and someone would soon be along with an answer, and the local support group. It really does make a difference having people that understand.
