Just watching this on home and health and wondering why they asked someone at 30 stone to lose 4 stone before surgery yet operated on someone 38 stone without them needing to even lose any is it just me or does that seem wrong

At my pre op assessment I met two chaps I'm this very position. The chap they asked to lose the weight had been referred but on his initial consultation with the surgeon just didn't seem "fired up" enough about the surgery. So he was asked to lose weight to test his commitment. He went on to lose 3 stone in 6 weeks. The other chap was far heavier but he was desperate. He was so young and his health was failing. They didn't ask him to loose any weight, in fact they fast tracked his procedure.

Was there some other issues ie high blood pressure with the one person but not the other?

None were mentioned butterfly and no mention at all of contributors just seemed odd as both were committed to the opportunity and the changes it would require

not sure just seemed really odd to me i would have thought the 38 stone would have been a more risky operation so would have wanted to make it easier but guess not

I agree but may be his health would have been put at risk by waiting but least he got done
You can also see the first series on you tube
