Hi, mine was 6 weeks but im afraid after a 2ml fill I'm still hungry and finding it hard. My head still wants to eat "bad foods" so im waiting to hear if i can get another fill soon .Good luck and hope your journey goes well.

I think we have all been where you are. Not sure if it's possible to ever fully get rid of that feeling of wanting "bad" foods, so I try to think of the fact that there may be "better" foods. Seems stupid, but shifting perception doesnt make me feel bad and then go on to sabotage myself as a consequence. I just try to focus on eating more of the better foods to fill me up, and then if I want some of the less good options, I do allow myself to plan those into my day. In all honesty though probably most days I am too full from the healthier/better food to then want to eat the "bad" food I have already planned in.

I know you are disappointed, but it's better to have the fills slowly rather than be overfilled. When you hear the horror stories, that's just not good! Some level of restriction will be there, and it's likely to catch you out when you least expect it ... So just try to concentrate on making the right band friendly choices now, and following your providers guidance. It's a lifetime journey, not a quick fix ... So you have plenty of time xxx

Completely agree with Michelle slowly but surely, even though I know how frustrating it is when you don't feel any difference and feel hungry. Bear with it it does get better. In the meantime really practice eating slowly and chewing your food, it ll come very handy I promise

Is it normal to feel so hungry before the first fill?. I am coming up to my second week post-op and my appetite seems to have returned with a vengeance. Its blooming hard work!

Good luck David sometimes it feels like you've never had your band until you have a few fills , I've just had my second fill up too 6.5 in 10ml band and man can I feel it x hope all goes well for you today xxx

Hi snack, I just had my 1st fill 6.5ml in a 10ml band Ive got now, when did you have yours? Dont feel much different atm but im still on liquids so cant really tell yet xx

Oh yes feels very tight have to eat very slowly or it's painful only thing is since I went from 5 ml too 6.5 my acid reflux is playing me up no end :( x

It was about 5 weeks for me although I already had 4mL put in during the op. It brought me up to 6mL. The weeks before I had been super hungry and was definitely eating more than I should and having some pain from it (bad!) but the lady who did my fill said it was perfectly normal to be getting hungry sooner. It's all about finding the sweet spot :)

It looks like I'm not there yet though :( Seeing very little difference so far since my fill but I'll get there eventually and so will you :) It's still much easier than just regulating my eating all by myself though.
I'm sure you've done loads of diets before, you'll just have to be in diet-mode until your fill.

ooo ok thanks :) Im going onto soft foods tomorrow so ill be able to see what happens then. ive only had 1 tin of soup all day and usually id be hungry and im not so hopefully its give me some more restriction. Just hope its not TOO tight and painful ha! xx

sorry to hear about your acid reflux :( X

Well had my fill, only 1ml though and amazingly after my first meal, chewed to smithereens - I positively hate being sick, I must say the difference is huge. I sat for the evening feeling 'full'. As always Derby were incredibly helpful with every question answered

Do they let you go straight onto solids after a fill? Be careful!
