Gall Bladder Pain

Anyone have any suggestions on making it any easier. Hurts like hell tonight.
Just thought I would ask in case anyone has any 'old wives tales' or something I haven't tried.
Try anything at the moment so any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Tramadol from the hospital worked great for me. Are you to have your gallbladder removed? I would really advise having it removed as soon as you can, things really ease up then :)

Really feeling your pain tonight though but only v strong pain relief did it for me :( xx

I had gallbladder removed a few years before wls eggs always set off pain kept to a very low fat diet no eggs or anything made from eggs. Codeine helped my pain, ended up collapsing at work it was infected and stuck to my liver, didn't want to operate before as I weighed too much! Think everyone has some food that sets of the pain.

Feel for you, the pain is something I can't describe - was rushed to hospital with mine, but they didn't take mine out, don't want to have to experience that again. Can't advise on pain relief, I was dosed up with morphine to calm mine down.

Hope you get it sorted sooner rather than later.

I have no suggestions but wanted to send a 'cyber-hug'. I had my gall bladder out 12 yes ago but the aim before was indescribable.

I'd rather give birth to 12lb sextuplets thank live through that again xx

Just spoken to the hospital now and they want me to go in for a scan and to see the surgeon again.

I would dance naked around a packed waiting room if they could promise to stop this pain.

(Well, not really bit it does hurt a lot)

Hope they get this sorted ASAP Mrs Z!!

I did see someone mention here that their WLS surgeon was possible going to do their WLS and gallbladder surgery at the same time but I'm not sure what the outcome was :( xx

Well, I just tried the apple cider vinegar mixed with apple juice cure......Bork. Absolutely disgusting.

Next on my list of suggested cures/making it manageable is the shake made of cucumber, beetroot, turmeric and apples.

We know see.

I had gall bladder problems a few months before deciding to have wls it's actually what got me on the path my dr suggested having it done together, it got too bad in the end and had to have it removed start of feb by the surgeon who did my bypass Monday he couldn't operate on my bypass sooner as need for you to be fully healed before doing it. But I cut a load of red tape going that route. Believe me I know how you feel hope they sort u soon x x

I'm hoping that mine isn't too bad and can all be done together. I just don't want to go to the back of the queue on my bypass as I'm soooooo close now.

The pain is so bad when it does strike though that I couldn't not go to them and say something. I was also scared that if it wasn't 'picked up' during the surgery that it would get worse whilst trying to recover from the big surgery setting me back.

I'm not yellow today and the itching skin has stopped so I'm hoping the scan doesn't show anything nasty and I can continue on my quest for a seat on the losers bench. I want my seat on there. :)

I went yellow and itchy, a gallstone had got stuck in bile duct so you get symptoms of a liver of an alcoholic. Had to have a sphinctectomy it's the same as an endoscopy but they cut the end of the duct to let the stone out. It sounds like yours has shifted itself.

Good luck I hope you can get it sorted asap xx

Well it's sorted eventually. It has a new home in a little jar in pathology!

I could t stand the pain any longer and went to a&e. Bloody good job as the consultant said if I had waited another 24-48hrs I would have gone into organ failure. Stones had escaped the gall bladder and taken a trip through my bile duct causing pancreatitis, enlarged spleen and a stressed liver.

After a fortnight in hospital stabilising bloods, ERCP and monitoring I finally had the offending item whipped out - it put up a fight and stuck itself to my liver and something else.

I'm back on the good girl list with my WLS and have got my date! Yeay. 15 September. Can't wait.

Thanks for all the messages and the tips for trying to get rid of the pain. Some worked. Some were downright strange! Ha.
