Gallstone question

Just wondering how long after surgery people developed gallstones?

I'm wondering if that is what my pain is but don't want to bring it up with doctor if its unlikely to be so soon after surgery- i'm only 6 weeks and don't wanna look like a complete prat!

Get it checked out is my advice. I had a gallstone and I have not had surgery yet. It may have been there a while, I never knew I had mine till I ended up in hospital with a serious infection. The pain if it gets you is indescribable, don't wait, check it out

Gallstones are not just the curse of post op people hanisreg. I had them when i weighed in at 21 stone...

Never ever be embarassed to ask your doctor about any pain, especially post op! xx

Don't they sometimes take the gall bladder out during the op? I am sure that the Fat Doctor on TV does in his program. Perhaps that's just with the bypass patients though.

I had my gallbladder removed the year before last after several early morning dashes to A&E for morphine. It is the worst pain I have ever experienced.
Check with your doctor - find out what the pain is NOW !!

dont mess around and it you think thats what it is get it checked, my dad ended up having to have emergency surgery on christmas eve on his gallbladder - long story but if he'd acted quicker the first time he might not have been in that situation
