Can any of you ladies (or gents) offer any advice... As you know I was 'wrapped' on Tuesday, got home yesterday, the thing is I still can't stop thinking about food, I really don't think I'm hungry at all but so used to going to the kitchen and grabbing something to eat normally just for the sake of it and I'm really worried about not having the willpower, , I ve eaten a little soup and nearly a whole small yogurt today and I'm full to the brim but I still can't stop thinking about food!!! When something is advertised on the tv I find myself actually drooling like a dog lol, suppose I just want to know that these thoughts are normal and I'm not turning in to some kind of food maniac!!! Xx

You are going to have to keep yourself busy and nothing naughty in the house. I don't know if the wrap gets rid of ghrelin like the sleeve. I do get some head hunger but I find it much easier to deal with post op. oh and when you're full on proper food it's easier too. Stay strong.

Thankyou Hun, I think it's just where foods been such a habit for me for so long it's probably just an automatic action, like you say I'm just gonna have to keep myself busy and find something else to focus on, I want this to work so bad and I'm petrified of failing, suppose its early early days and once I can become more active it will probably be easier, thankyou so much for your reply x x

Yes of course it is but we have to work to break those habits. It doesn't happen overnight though. I read loads when I was off after my op.

Being wrapped doesn't remove the ghrelin and unfortunately the head hunger is the one big hurdle I've had to have to work on. Have some water - or other liquid. I used to drink Oxo which helped. Try riding the craving for 20 minutes - have a drink and then go and do something else - ring a friend, paint your nails, go for a short walk, have a bubble bath - any form of distraction that's a nice thing to do, and if you still 'feel' hungry after this time then you probably need something. It's so easy to turn to food and the behaviours we have developed over many years will take time to change - so one step at a time - you'll get there! x

Great advice gill! The fist days are.the worst, you will feel much better as you step up stages. I was craving allsorts, tormented myself with food porn but couldn't get water in let alone food.....I even put a piece of ham in my mouth for taste then spat it out.
I felt much better as I began managing food. I do have head hunger occasionally but as gillykit said have an oxo drink...veg are my fave, and i can sometimes eat too fast, so when you are eating remember to chew! It will get better...promise x
