Can i just say a very big well done on being sober for 4 years thats a fantastic acheivement as is having the courage to leave your abusive ex i know that is not an easy thing to do.As far as waiting times go all pct's are different what area are you in and hopefully someone will come along and give you better advice as i had my op privately x

I don't know what to advise with regards to NHS surgery.

One reason I went private was because I knew I'd be waiting a long time for WLS on the NHS.

Someone will come along with advise no doubt.

Does your doctor know your history? The reason I ask is because, according to the BOSPA site, social, economic and psychological conditions can be classed as comorbidities. It might be worth looking into. Best of luck Cat. Mxx

Blimey girl, you have been through the mill. All credit to you for finding the strength to deal with these terribly stressful and cruel life events. Look what you have achieved.

Now think to yourself - the mighty strength you have shown in overcoming life's obstacles is far in excess of what you will need to get WLS.

Yes, it's going to be a struggle and you will have to stay on top of the whole thing, you can do it though - just as you have done so much to improve your life.

If GP is useless, change GP's, read up about BOSPA and you will get loads of help here from the people that know. You will get so much help and support.

Welcome to Mini's...I wish I had all the answers for you, unfortunately I don't.
However, if you put up who your PCT and the hospital you intend going to, I'm sure someone from the same will soon be here to help.

BTW...Well done on getting to where you are now...takes guts to take the journey you did...

The diet clinic might be a way in.If you go under them for 6/12 months do everything they suggest and still cant maintain a weightloss they might put you forward for surgery.Do you have any other probs,joint pain,high bp,hernia,sleep probs/snoring.skin fold infections,depression.etc Your bmi seems low to me,what do you weigh?Im 5ft 4in weigh 264 bmi 45.size 26

You sound like you've been to hell and back and survived. I really hope you get the help you need. Well done on been sober for four years, but also well done for baring your soul to us all, that cannot have been easy....
