I know I should not be worrying about this, but when was you able to do washing, ironing etc after your operations. Thank you.

I had my op on the friday, I was hoovering and cleaning on the tuesday, I don't recommend anyone following me but I'm a clean freak so just had to do it as fella thinks once a day hoovering is enough!!!

Everyone is different. Don't push yourself too soon and listen to your body x

I made a mega clean up /iron done/ big shop all done before I went in for my operation and once out I only had to wash my stuff I took in the hospital did some light work after and went to the shops after a few days but only bringing back 1 bag of shopping and only what I needed
only you know how much you can do so do listen to your body and don't push it to far

Thank you Butterfly_lady, Mazza and los in it

Week today hopefully will get op this time, so started cleaning , shopping and cooking and freezing. Even thou freezer still full from the last time.

If you can buy yourself some cheap as chips plastic pots from the pound shops for food I still now keep making food for the old me .I was throwing it away then reminded myself to freeze it as a result I now have a shelf of home made meals I got some tubs that you get take away meals in and some yogurt pot size as you eat so little and that is plenty

Hi los in it
Thank you for that, I will have a look when I go to town on Friday. Never thought about me, just trying to do hubby's so he hasn't got alot to do when he comes home from work.
Hope you are doing well on your journey.

hi willow
im doing really well went to my hospital for my 2nd post op chat with the dietician who is happy with where I am found out today im not eating enough protein I understand we need as post oppers to get around 60-80 g of protein a day and after reviewing what I eat it looks like im doing about 1/2 of that! so need to up the chicken and fish less mash and rice lord knows how im going to do that!

I was told after my bypass my he therapist , no hoovering, ironing, or gardening for four weeks, and I didn't drive for six weeks, just started this week back driving, I wasn't taking any risks!

Hi los in it
Really pleased you are doing well. Take care.

Curls40 I haven't told anybody about this op, no idea how hubby's going to manage for 4 weeks. :D

My husband done all the hoovering for four weeks, your hubby will just have to get used to it, got my teenage son to do the ironing under major protest, people adapted, when the have to. You have to think of yourself, and I have only told selected people I've had a bypass, not back at work yet , bit worried about going back.

I was told to wait 4-6 weeks as energy levels are low and you risk fainting!

I didn't listen. Thought I was fine. Hoovering the stairs 4 weeks post op and I went dizzy and fell down the stairs.

Follow whatever guidance your team gives you xx
