awwww Tracey love. What a very rough time you're having. I wasn't given one of these either. I hope you get better very soon love.
Grace xxxx

Hi Tracey, I got one of these but when the Physio came along to tell me all about it I was only a couple of hours out of surgery. Needless to say, I didn't remember much of what she said other than what people in my ward told me. I did continue it when I got home but not so much as I was supposed to. I do hope you are soon feeling better x

Are you sure they are called Proton Pump Inhibitors? I thought they were the group of drugs we are given post op to reduce gastric acid production - like lansoprazole.

I thought it was called a spirometer ? Mine kept sticking and I ditched it when I got home... But I did my own breathing exercises and played music to rehabilitate my lungs.

Never heard of this at Salford, Tracey... another regional thing by the sound of it Angel. Do hope you are picking up. You are very often in my thoughts precious. Love and hugs xxx

Yep, Lansoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor. No idea what they call the breathing device.

ive never heard of that breathing thing either. hope you soon feel a lot better tracey huni, big hugs xxxx
that sounds like the sort of thing you could have done with bev, maybe your chest wouldnt have been as bad then.

I got one of those and I used it everyday until a i hit 2 weeks out. But then i got sick and back in the hospital for two days and they made me start using it again. Mine didnt have a smiley face though hahah. It just had numbers and i had to breath up till the one they put the arrow to. I honestly hope you feel better soon and its pretty amazing how many people dont know what this device is and never had to use it. Its suppose to prevent pneumonia in your lungs or any type of chest infection because after they put you to sleep its very common for your lungs to get weak for a little while and not expand to where they are supposed to this is to prevent that
