I am finally on the road to surgery

I am lucky that the NHS in the UK is funding my operation. I know many people who have been refused and weigh more than myself. In two weeks I go for an appointment for an asssessment with the aneasthetists. To say I am excited is an understatement. I cant help but think 'how long till my surgery date?' what is the time scale other people who have had surgery through the nhs etc etc. Atleast I know I am on the road to freedom. I am tired of being trapped in someone elses body.

hello niks . happy you got funding , im not sure how long till op as diffo areas have diffo time scales. from day of seminar to op was 16 months for me. some quicker some longer. just keep thinking the new you is on way and time will fly by . gl on your journey and tc x

Great news Nik, like the others have said it depends where you are. I'm having mine at St. Georges Tooting and the average wait is 2 years from referal to surgery. Hope you get the news you want soon.

I am in bradford. I heard its pretty good here. And my surgeon said waiting list is 26 weeks. I am impatient though. Been on this journey since february so not that long all told
