I came out today and I am in some pain, how long does this last?

I am to have fluid for 10 days then onto 3 weeks purée.
Thanks
Stef x

The pain will ease, is it wind that's causing you pain? Because that is very painful, I was on liquids till the end of week 2 then it's mashed and soft diet till week 8-10 so I am half way there.

Good luck with yours and I hope the pain eases soon xx

Hi Stef - Sorry to hear your suffering pain hun x

Did the hospital give you any pain relief to help you over the initial trauma of surgery?

Was it a gastric bypass or a band you had? I imagine with a bypass there would be more pain as it is a much bigger operation, hope you have something at home you could take hun x

If you could walk around slowly and steadily at home, it may help relieve the wind pain.

Don`t forget to drink lots and lots and sip, sip, sip!

Take care hun x

Love Kat x

Hope you soon feel better x

I had a bypass and they did not send me home with any painkillers.

I think the pain is whilst not bad, it feels weird and strange. I know it's early days but I want to feel normal again.

I do have wind but it does not appear to be trapped it coming out!!!!!

I am surprised they didn't give you any pain relief I had liquid morphine which I didn't need or use I also had codeine and paracetemol, take whatever painkillers you have and call your team when you can.

I hope you feel better soon xx

congrats on being back home. Hope the pain eases soon xx

Hope you soon get over the pain and can enjoy the new you to come.

I am only 12 days post op, So I remember the feeling well!

The pain and discomfort went by day 7 for me.
The only pain I have now is if I accidently roll on my tummy while asleep.
I took soluble paracetamol for the first week. That helped lots!
Hang in there, It gets better before you know it.

Jay xXx
