I have never even stepped in one before and now I am a member- I have a card and everything!!!!!

Not sure when I can start- hopefully soon- should I wait to see my consultant- or my gp?

I just wanted to share with you guys, as you will be the only ones who will understand.

Hi

And well done! It realy depends on which op and how you recover. If you are having a bypass and open it may take 6 weeks plus to recover enough and then with caution.

I had a band and was walking at first then back at the gym and on the treadmill after about 2 weeks. Swimming had to wait until my wounds had healed and anything for my stomach around 6 weeks.

Hope you enjoy it x

Stef i see you are keen to get going. I would suggest wait till you've seen your surgeon as he has specialist knowledge of exactly what your body has gone through, whereas your gp is very much more generalised knowledge or as i found out with my new gp little or no clue.

If you really can't wait then i'd suggest maybe just go in and use the treadmill, nothing strenuous, and use the time to get to know other members who can be a source of support to you on your journey.

Best of luck sweets, keep us posted.

ps, please fill in some of your profile as it's good if we can see what surgery you had and when, especially if you want advice xx
