hi, i've just joined & am seeing an NHS surgeon on Monday, i think i've talked myself into he will say no and once again i'll be back to square one. i've tried many, if not all diets with mixed results, this is the final options, any pointers would be grateful.
Hi please dont be scared we are here to support you. Which surgeon on your seeing? I admit I was scared before I saw my surgeon and felt the same as you that he would say no and I would be back to square one, but they dont they are all lovely and want to help people like us. How far along in the process are you? Are you going private or NHS? What criteria do you have to meet for your PCT if going private? We can all help and reassure you on here...xx
I'm sure your visit with the surgeon will be fine, my surgeon was lovely when I met him and made me feel at ease straight away.
My only pointer would be to be completely honest with him about your eating habits and problems, that way they can help you find the best solution for you.
Hi Lainey, welcome to minis. My advice would be to write down all the questions you want to ask in case you get emotional or forget something in the heat of the moment. Also, to have a really long think about why you want the surgery and what it would mean to you and to write it down, as this will help you to plead your case. Good luck and make sure you let us know how you get on x
Thanks for the lovely welcome, my Gp reluctantly refered me to the surgeon, I meet the critea for he PCT in my area, I guess i'm just looking on the negative side.
i'm looking for bypass, so we shall see what Monday brings.
Well meeting the criteria is the main hurdle, so I'm sure you'll be fine! What area are you in? There might be others on here who have seen your surgeon too
Hi and welcome to minis. your GP has referred you so thats one big hurdle over. the bypass has been the best thing i ever did so will keep my fingers crossed that you hear something soon xx
Hi and welcome Lainey, is it not surprising that we look on the negative side when all other things have failed in the past. Think positive, and good luck for Monday. xx
