Thanks for all the replies on my earlier thread. Hope you can give me some inspiration for a very low fat (as per liver diet) Jacket spud topping bearing in mind NO FISH

cottage cheese, grated cheese, ww baked beans, chicken mayo, chilli, bolognaise, mince - would think of more but for me baked potatoes taste too sweet!

You're really better off asking your own dietician as all areas are different and it would be terrible if someone suggested something in all good faith and it turned out to be wrong.

I was on the milk and yoghurt diet for my liver shrinkage so I'm completely confused :D

Is that as literal as it sounds?

I don't understand - are you having baked potatoes on your liver-shrinking diet?? The diet should be very low carb to use up the glycogen in your liver. xx

Yes, 3 pints of semi skimmed milk and 2 low fat yoghurts per day for 10 days and that was it!

Thank goodness I was offered the 'real food' diet! How on earth did you cope? xx

Your right ;) I've read it again now, looks like an atkins type regime

Except it's low fat, too! It's not so bad once you get into it - I'm into my 5th day and I can't honestly say I've been hungry. xx

In all fairness, very very well. It was one of them moments where I thought, if I can do this, why can't I control my eating all the time?

But then I knew what it was, if I didn't stick to it, the operation wouldn't go ahead and I wasn't prepared to blow the chance I had been given!

It's surprising what you can do when you put your mind to it!

how very true mixman, i am going on the milk diet for my pre op and was thinking how on earth will i survive for 2 weeks with no food then thought well i have to post op and if i don't do it i won't have the op so i am determined nothing is going to stop me getting on that table to be re-born lol
