I do understand how frustrating it is.
I KNOW it's easy for me to say being 'out the other side' but try and find something to try and occupy my your mind. When I was first on the waiting list, thinking about the whole thing was all I seemed to do and it dragged but when I found stuff to take my mind off it it seemed to go quicker.
If it does work out to be 18 weeks you will be done by Easter, Sorting out a new wardrobe by the summer, sorting it out again next autumn and this time next year you'll be picking a slinky Christmas outfit.
Also, the estimate they have given you is based on everybody having their op. I know of a handful of people (in various areas) who on getting their date have decided not to accept it.
Also surgical units often share operating theatres. At Derby they share with the cancer unit. If that is the case at your hospital they are probably giving a worst case scenario so it may well be less.

just thought I would ring the dept that made all our appointments on the waiting lists.approx 18 weeks.but the waiting list quite long.so just waiting now.dont know what to say really.happy Christmas everyone.take care
Are you trying for surgery? Are you jumping through hoops still to qualify? I'm going to c shrink dietician n specialist nurse on 19th dec n wondering what will happen then at Luton

think of it this way we are now in december pretty soon will be january and that is always the month that flies by so in that scheme of things 18 weeks will be here before you know it goodluck
