Kj and Kcals - what is the difference?

Have just been on my cross trainer and it measures the energy used in Kj's rather than kcals.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the two? I go on it for short bursts and use around 400-500kj but would love to know what that is in English i.e. calories!

Have tried to find a conversion but failed! Can anyone help?

hi coco

from what i remember im sure a kj is a 4th of a kcal so if you burned up 400kj then im sure thats 100 kcals, hope this helps and hope im right!

Alternatively look on the packet of something to see how many kilojoules/kilocals it has in it and do a bit of mental arithmetic, just what you need on a Tuesday night! xx

Super, thank you guys very much x :D

I haven't programmed my weight into my machine so hopefully being the double the weight I should be may mean I am burning double the calories that it shows me! This is my theory anyway! :D;):character00116:
