I was only told to take them for 3 months, was really glad to see the end of them lol. Can you check with your team?

Thats all you can do really it will be the hospital team that will tell you our own gp's dont really want to know once you are in hospital hands. xx

Yes they did bloods and the dietician talked about an average food day they weighed me and thats about it took about 15 mins they were very happy with everything, only thing i got wrong for was Im not drinking enough and need to stop weighing my food or counting cals or anything she sed I need to learn to eat less without feeling like im on a diet cause thats where people go wrong and end up getting sick and resenting foods they feel they shudnt be eating. But they were over the moon with my weight loss sed it was on the high end but not too high that they were concerned. Am still waiting for my blood results I just had my first post op check 2 wks ago so expecting the results any day now x

My aunt is still on them 2.5 years post op and I was told for life, as our stomach is high up, and helps prevent build up of acid. Which then protects stomach lining and prevents an ulcer xxx

Yet another tablet to take is a small price to pay for being a 'loser'

I agree :D I like the taste of my fastabs and they settle my stomach really well :D

Mine say every day for the first 3 months.

Once again it amazes me how different all hospitals are and their advice xxx

I'll find out next week. If I can move onto the capsules I'll be fine it's the fast tabs that make me feel really sick

I think after4 weeks I will be moved onto capsules

I don't understand why we are all told different things for this tablet when we have had the same operation.
After my bypass I was told it's taken for life??
Is it purely down to the cost of them,as why some only take them for 3months..
Or is it important to our health that we must take them for life??? I'm confused x

I honestly believe its based on the surgeon's opinion and experiences and research. For example, some surgeons are much stricter about weight loss. I think as long as we have a surgeon who has done many ops successfully we are in good hands and have to play follow the leader. Also our stomachs are cut differently - different surgeons have different preferences and some cut smaller than others.

i take them i have took them every day since 2007 i dont think they do any harm best to keep taking keeps acid indegestion away for the sake of a small tablet il carry on x
