Hello everyone, I have been reading through alot of the posts on here and some have some very helpful answers so I hope you can help me

I got my band in 11 weeks ago and have had 2 fills, my problem is I have no restriction at all, I can eat things now that I wasn't able to eat after my 1st fill ie..chicken, bread, rice etc

My next fill isn't until 20th October and there is just no way that I would be able to wait until then, I will have weight on me at this rate!!

Is there anything I can do to help me with my restriction

Thank you
Charlotte

Hi

First of all I was advised to avoid bread, rice and pasta post band beacuse eventually you probably wont be able to eat it at all.

If you cant get an earlier fill the best advice I can give is to make sure you are full after each meal to avoid snacking. Your meal should consist of in higher quantities protein which you should eat first and veg and finally a small portion of carbs to be eaten last if you can manage them.

If you are hungry between meals avoid slider food and stick to raw veg and fruit or a small lof fat yoghurt.

Finally make sure you are drinking enough to keep you hydrated, sometimes hunger can be mistaken for thirst.

Good luck!

the thing with bands is its alot of waiting if you can get an earlier fill have one if not just eat to your full make sure your eating good heavy foods like jacket pots stews i found great in earyer days , it can take 4/5 fills till good restriction is got hence why alot of people are warned at consultation it is not unheard of for people to gain post op till you have restriction, id avoid pasta and bread tho, try and stick to healthier foods so the larger quantitys dont matter , it will get better with each fill

Thank you for the advice so far, I will take everything into consideration and try and change my diet again lol, im obviously still eating the wrong foods

Hi R.P.
Reading with sympathy as i have read this time and time again.
I must remember this when i get banded shortly.
I have to drill it in my brain that you have to work hard with the band till resriction kicks in, and then continue to stop as you feel full.
That has always been a problem for me stopping!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Mia
