Hi and Welcome to the forum, you will find everyone very friendly, supportive and helpful here. I have only been here a few weeks and already love the site. I too am at the early stages of the wls journey and have a long way to go before surgery. xx

hello x thankyou for welcoming me x iam really struggaling trying to find my way around this site (not computer savy lol) there doesn't seem to be alot of people on line or is it just me not looking in the right places? x would really love to have companions in our quest lol x

Hello and welcome. This is the best forum on the net for information and support. Unfortunately it's nearly midnight so many people are probably sleeping....

Could you possibly fill in a bit of your profile? You do this by going to 'user cp' on the top row and edit profile. You don't have to put your weight if you don't want too, although none of us are judgemental. But it's handy for us to know what area you live in and surgery for when you ask questions....

Most privileges like sending messages etc come in after 50 posts...

Good luck on your journey i look forward to hearing where you are on the path and how you get along xx

hello thankyou for the info i didn't know how to fill it in x i'm sure there is 95% of the population in bed but iv got my laptop today and im so excited to be able to speak with people who really feel what iam going through lol x i will try to update this now and please point me in the right direction if i do it wrong x many thanks

You just keep exploring the site and enjoying your new toy.. I love the internet and the whole world it opens up to us. Not sure how i'd have coped with my surgery without this site....

As i said, if you go up to the green lines across the top of the page, there is UserCP, if you click on that you will find the option to edit your profile and put stuff in it and 'save' it...

Where are you from? How close to surgery are you? What are you having? So many questions that i want the answers to lol x

hi x iv done it but think i'v done the height wrong? i'm from the south east and my journey is becoming back to front and upside down to anything that i have read on all the gastric referall sites? I'v already seen a surgeon in november of last year and he had me in tears telling me i'd be a changed women and that my life/health will be so much better then "bam" funding stopped and i'v had to wait to be referred for funding, iv a few health conditions that have blighted my life and now i'm taking control x how are you ? hows your journey been so far? xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Firstly, we are at the beginning (almost) of the new financial year, so get onto your consultants secretary and ask if your funding has been reapplied for. If they don't do it and your gp has too then get down to them and sort it now :)

I am absolutely wonderful, my journey has been pretty uneventful, recovered from surgery really quickly and although off work for about 6-7 weeks apart from that wonderful. My weight loss has been slow compared to others but then after honestly addressing habits i've realised old ways were sneaking back in and have returned to weight watchers to regain some control of my food, and it's working for me well :)

Health wise i'm brilliant, i cannot remember the last time i had a migraine or felt crappy. My type 2 diabetes no longer required meds to control it and fitness wise i'm a different person... To walk 5 miles now to me on a beautiful day like today would be a treat, this time last year when my car was out of action the 1.3 miles to work was flipping hard going and i hated it, and it was on the flat :(

Life changes for the better for sure xx

hi all thankyou for the messages of support and welcoming me x i'm near medway, is there anyone close too me or under west kent pct? x i'm begining to get so nervous waiting to hear back from the panel that i'm now having anxiety attacks (1st time in 3 years) i didn't think it was getting to me too much but it obviously is! its a shame really because up untill recently i felt in control of the situation and now i'm not :0( x does anyone have experiance with my pct? x would love to hear back soon x take care and take control xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi

I'm down on the East Sussex coast and can't help I'm afraid. It's only since posting on this forum I've discovered that our 'neighbours' (West Sussex) have suspended funding and they use the same funding body East Sussex does so I'm dreading the result of my funding application (I'm expecting to hear this week).

Will keep all crossed for you xx

Hi sicknote

I am under West Kent PCT, i was very lucky to get my funding just before they stopped in November...

Am i right in saying you have seen the surgeon at the hospital first ????

Nicky xx

hello, i'm glad that you had your funding approved and didn't suffer the heartache i have lol x its nice to hear that the process does work and i'm sure i'l get there in the end x in answer to your question i think my doctor was a bit uninformed about weightloss surgery as it was my eating disorder specialist who decided that enough was enough and she statred waking a few people up with regards to my limitaitions due to weight/illnessess etc x my doctor refered me to a bariatric surgeon as i think he felt i might not qualify however my surgeon agreed that my illnesses were made so much worse by exsessive weight xxxxxxxxxxxxxx i do hope things are going well for you and i look forward to hearing back soon tc xxx:)
