Does everyone have to have a gastroscopy (try typing that with predictive text on!)?
They mentioned it at the seminar and seems to be something that makes the process linger, it makes sense but just wondered if it was standard as I really don't fancy it!

I had a band fitted privately and didn't need to have one. I think it will depend on the procedure and the surgeon. Good luck!

I thought the gastroscopy was for the Balloon not band etc...?

I'm having the by-pass in jan and I haven't been told that I need one!

I had a gastric bypass and I didn't have one. Every provider is different though, so it's probably better to ask your consultant about it, if it's something that concerns you

I had to have one in June I'm having a bypass in 2 weeks and 2 days

yes I had one 2 days prior to op was not so bad with sedation
