Hi, my GP has referred me for WLS 2 weeks ago. Does anyone know what the next step is. My BMI is 39.9 however I have high cholestrol and depression (does this help things along??).

I emailed the bariatric nurse before my GP sent off my forms and she told me that she wouldn't even see me as I don't meet the guidelines. So am I wasting my time? Has anyone had experience of WLS in the Lothians area?

I don't know Lothians criteria i'm afraid but i would call the bariatric nurse back and her ask her what the criteria is. I went privately so not much help i'm afraid and i'm under the Glasgow area. If you don't have any joy come back to us and we will see what we can find out x
